Freshers: Until and Unless the candidate is from IITs and NITs, the average salary paid to the Civil Engineering freshers in India is 13000-16000 INR.
Worst Part: There are companies who even thinks a fresher should work for free for a year. There are many companies who try to take the advantage of the unplaced candidates and offer them with a salary as low as 7000-8000 INR.
Good Part: Once you gain 1-2 years of experience, you can expect a hike in your salary. A candidate with one year of experience can expect 25,0000 INR per month while candidates with 2+ years of experience can expect a salary of 30,000-40,000 INR per month.
Warning: In an conversation with an HR of a consultant firm in Bhubaneswar, the HR said that good and reputed Civil Engineering Companies now-a-days try to hire candidates through ( their ) consultancy firm so that they could offer less salary to the Engineer.
