The Indian Air Force (IAF) is the mainstay of the Indian Armed Forces and has been in service of the nation since October 8, 1932. It has augmented the warfare capability of the Indian Armed Forces through its array of futuristic fighter jets, all terrain helicopters and highly trained personnel. It has a hierarchical order of ranks and is strictly regimented. It is also one of the biggest spenders on arms and ammunition which it purchases with the intent of extending its aircraft fleet and help airmen have an advantage while engaging in enemy combat. The President of India is the commander- in- chief of the IAF.

Airman (Group ‘X’ Technical Trades and Group ‘Y’ Medical Assistant Trades)
Group ‘X’ Technical Trades:
The candidate must have a 10+2 or equivalent qualification with Mathematics, Physics and English as the subjects. Aggregate pass marks should be 50% with 50% in English. Else, the candidate must have done a three year diploma course in Engineering with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Age bar is 21 years at the time of enrollment.
Group ‘Y’ Medical Assistant Trades:
The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as the subjects. Minimum 50% in aggregate and in English individually is mandatory. Age limit is 21 years at the time of induction.
Selected candidates shall be paid a stipend of Rs 11,400 per month during the training period. After training is completed, Group ‘X’ Technical Trades candidates shall be entitled to a pay of Rs 24,900 per month and Group ‘Y’ Medical Assistant Trades shall be entitled to a salary of Rs 20,500. Other allowances such as Transport allowance, Leave Ration allowance, etc. are applicable to admitted airmen.
Recruitment rallies for hiring Group ‘X’ Technical Trades aspirants shall take place at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. Recruitment rally for admission of Group ‘Y’ Medical Assistant Trades aspirants shall be held at Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh exclusively. The selection process entails a written test, physical fitness test and an interview round. All eligible candidates shall have to furnish required documents and certificates on the day of the rally.
IAF will conduct recruitment tests at Jabalpur on 11 & 14 September, 2014 from 7 AM onward and on 16, 18, 20 & 22 September, 2014 at Kurnool from 7 AM onward.
