Formed in 1975, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an independent nodal agency for the evaluation and appointment of human resources for the leading public sector banks in India. Every year, it holds an online based Common Written Examination (CWE) for persons aspiring to join the nationalized banks as officers or clerks.

A graduation degree in any field from a university approved by the Government of India is mandatory to participate in this recruitment. Candidates should possess a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 28 years to be considered eligible for the process. He/ she should have an expertise in the local language and should also be computer literate. The candidate should also primarily be an Indian national.
It is necessary for the aspirants to crack the CWE Clerks- IV exam successfully, following which allotment for the interview round shall be done. The interview schedule for the shortlisted candidates shall be printed on the call letter which can be downloaded from the IBPS portal after the results are out. Candidates shall have to furnish requisite documents and certificates on the interview day, and failure to comply with the same shall lead to outright rejection of candidature.
The application fees is Rs 100 for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates and Rs 600 for all others.
